By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing our team to carry out work at your premises, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding. Throughout these terms, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the service provider operating under the Vauxhall carpet cleaners name, and references to “you” and “your” mean the customer, client, or person arranging the service.

These terms are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and consistency in the way we accept bookings, deliver services, take payment, manage cancellations, and handle legal responsibilities. They apply to all standard carpet cleaning services, upholstery-related cleaning where agreed, and any additional treatments expressly included in a booking. Any variation from these terms must be agreed by us in writing. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

By using our services, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a contract and that all details you provide to us are accurate and complete. You also confirm that you have the authority to arrange the cleaning work for the property in question. If you are booking on behalf of a landlord, tenant, managing agent, business, or other third party, you remain responsible for ensuring that the person or organisation you represent is aware of these terms.

Payment and invoice conditions for carpet cleaning servicesAll bookings are subject to availability and are accepted at our discretion. A booking is not confirmed until we have acknowledged it and, where required, received any deposit or prepayment requested from you. We may ask for information about the size and condition of the areas to be cleaned, access arrangements, flooring type, stains, pets, furnishings, or any other relevant factors so that we can assess the suitability of the job and provide an accurate quotation. If information supplied by you is incomplete or inaccurate, we may revise the quote, reschedule the appointment, or decline the job.

When a booking is made, you agree to ensure reasonable access to the property at the agreed date and time. This includes providing safe entry, turning on water and electricity where needed, and removing fragile or valuable items if requested. If parking restrictions, security procedures, concierge access, permits, or keys are required, you must tell us in advance and ensure all necessary arrangements are in place. Any delay caused by lack of access, unsuitable conditions, or incorrect information may result in additional charges or cancellation fees.

You are responsible for identifying any pre-existing damage, delicate materials, loose seams, colour loss, permanent staining, or fibres that may react adversely to cleaning. Although we will take reasonable care, certain fabrics, floor coverings, and stain types may not be fully cleanable or may require specialist treatment. We reserve the right to refuse or limit work where we believe the condition of the item or area makes the service unsafe, impractical, or likely to cause damage.

Cancellation, liability, and customer responsibility termsPrices are normally quoted in advance and may be based on the number of rooms, the size of the carpeted area, the level of soiling, the cleaning method required, and any additional services requested. Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for a limited time and may change if the scope of work changes before the appointment. Any extra work agreed on site will be charged separately. This includes, for example, additional rooms, unexpected heavy contamination, specialist stain treatment, or work that takes significantly longer than originally estimated.

Payment terms will be explained at the time of booking or before work begins. We may require full payment in advance, a deposit, or payment upon completion, depending on the nature of the job and the size of the booking. Unless we agree otherwise, invoices must be paid in full immediately on completion of the service. Accepted payment methods may include bank transfer, card payment, or other methods notified by us. We do not accept responsibility for delays caused by payment processing failures, incorrect payment details, or your bank’s refusal to release funds.

If an invoice remains unpaid after the due date, we may charge reasonable late-payment fees, interest, or recovery costs to the extent permitted by law. We also reserve the right to suspend future bookings, withdraw discounts, or refuse further services until outstanding amounts are settled. If payment is disputed, you must notify us promptly and provide full details of the issue. Undisputed sums remain payable in accordance with the original terms.

We understand that plans may change, but cancellations and rescheduling affect our availability and costs. If you wish to cancel or move your appointment, you must give us reasonable notice. Unless a different notice period is stated when booking, cancellations made with insufficient notice may incur a charge to cover administrative time, lost scheduling capacity, and any travel or preparation already undertaken. If you fail to attend the appointment, deny access, or are unavailable at the agreed time, this may be treated as a late cancellation or a failed appointment.

Any deposit paid may be retained in full or in part where cancellation occurs after we have reserved time and resources for your booking, subject to applicable consumer law. We will not charge cancellation fees where the law does not permit us to do so. If we need to cancel or reschedule due to equipment failure, staff illness, unsafe conditions, adverse circumstances, or reasons beyond our reasonable control, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and offer an alternative appointment where available.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the property is ready for cleaning at the agreed time. This includes moving small items if requested, securing pets, and informing relevant occupants of the scheduled visit. If the service cannot be completed because the area is not prepared, or because conditions materially differ from what was described at booking, we may charge a call-out fee or cancellation charge. We may also leave and rebook if work cannot proceed safely or effectively.

Our aim is to provide a professional carpet cleaning service with reasonable skill and care. However, cleaning results can vary depending on the age, condition, fabric type, prior treatment, and level of wear of the item or surface. We do not guarantee the removal of all stains, odours, marks, or discolouration. Some stains may be permanent or may reappear after drying due to wick-back or underlying contamination. Similarly, certain odours may be absorbed into underlay, padding, or subfloor materials and may not be completely removable through surface cleaning alone.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss arising from your own failure to provide accurate information, secure access, or follow our instructions. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are found liable for damage to property caused by our negligence, our liability will be limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, taking account of wear and tear and depreciation.

Waste disposal and environmental compliance for cleaning workYou must notify us of any issue with the service as soon as reasonably possible and, where practicable, before the cleaned area is used or altered. Failure to do so may affect our ability to inspect the condition and may limit any remedy we can offer. If a complaint relates to a specific area, we may request photographs, relevant details, or an opportunity to revisit the property and assess the concern. We will consider each issue fairly and in good faith.

Where the service involves waste removal, disposal of dirty water, debris, packaging, worn materials, or other waste generated during cleaning, we will handle such waste in accordance with applicable UK waste regulations. You acknowledge that some cleaning processes produce wastewater or residue that may require controlled disposal and must not be discharged contrary to law or to local water authority requirements. We will not knowingly dispose of hazardous or restricted materials in an unlawful manner, and we may decline to handle waste that we believe is unsafe, improperly classified, or outside the scope of the booking.

You are responsible for informing us in advance if the property contains hazardous substances, biological contaminants, sharps, mould, chemical residues, asbestos-related materials, or any other material requiring specialist handling. We do not provide hazardous waste removal unless specifically agreed in writing and lawfully permitted. If such materials are discovered during the service, we may suspend the work immediately and request that the relevant authority, specialist contractor, or qualified waste handler is engaged. Any additional costs arising from undisclosed hazardous conditions may be charged to you where lawful.

Waste regulations may also require us to separate, contain, transport, or transfer certain waste streams through approved routes. You agree not to ask us to dispose of any items illegally or to place us in breach of environmental duties. If a customer requests disposal of items that are not part of the normal service, we may agree only if the items can be handled safely and lawfully. We retain discretion to refuse any request that would conflict with our legal obligations, insurance cover, or operational standards.

Governing law and contract acceptance for carpet cleanersThese terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our services, pricing structure, legal obligations, or operational processes. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that booking unless a change is required by law. If we make material changes, we may notify you in a reasonable manner. Continuing to use our services after changes have been notified may be treated as acceptance of the updated terms for future bookings.

If there is any conflict between these terms and any written quotation, invoice, or booking confirmation, the specific written document will prevail only to the extent of the inconsistency. Any failure by us to enforce a provision on one occasion does not mean that we waive our right to enforce it later. If any waiver is granted, it must be in writing to be effective. No third party has the right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 unless expressly stated otherwise.

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
